Situated between the rivers Muga and els Salins, Empuriabrava is the most important residential marina in Europe, with more than 30 km of navigable canals and a fine sandy beach. Empuriabrava is a unique town like no other in Spain, with its crisscross canals bordered by pretty house with the moorings, and a Mecca for the boat lover. The town is a holidaymakers dream; the shopping areas provide for everything, it’s got its own aerodrome and parachuting school, and in the nearby recreational zone there is a shooting range, a go cart circuit, tennis, mini golf, riding school, night club etc.
The local area also has much to offer, from the ancient fishing town of Roses which was discovered by the ancient Greeks to Cadaqués, of which Salvador Dalí said was the most beautiful village in the world; the town of Castello d’Empuries which reached the height of its splendour during the Middle Ages and still conserves its traditional appearance; Els Aiguamolls de l’Emporda the second largest natural park in Catalonia; and the French border which is just a 20 minute drive away, but to mention a few.
